Mary J. Blige has been going through the most lately. Her stepdaughter, Briana Latrise Isaacs, was battered by her boyfriend. Briana’s father is Kendu Isaacs, Mary’s soon-to-be ex-husband. The award-winning singer decided to share her stepdaughter’s experience because Mary, herself, is a victim of an abusive relationship.
Mary’s difficult relationships are the reason why she has been able to deliver so many unforgettable tracks that have helped people overcome their hard times. Songs like “Not Gon’ Cry” are used to remind people how strong they are despite what they’re experiencing. In Taraji P. Briana posted a video about the incident via Instagram on Friday, July 8, 2016. In the video she admitted that she spit in her boyfriend’s face. He boyfriend’s name is Iman Omari. We’re hoping he’s her ex-boyfriend now. So many people stay with partners who don’t know how to handle their anger. They are typically convinced that their partner will change, but that never seems to happen.
In Taraji’s book she explains that she was also in an abusive relationship. Sadly, the man that abused Taraji was the father of her son, Marcel. He passed away a few years later in an unrelated incident.
