Melisa Reidy, Addison Russell’s ex-wife published a blog post revealing that she was physically and mentally abused by the MLB player for years.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Russell is on administrative leave while the MLB investigates Reidy’s accusations.

Melisa Reidy filed for divorce from Russell in June of 2017. If the allegations are true, she most likely tried to endure the abuse because they have a son together who was born in 2015. Melisa and Addison got married in 2016.
“Of course I forgave him and assumed it would never happen again”
In Melisa’s blog post she explains that she was in shock after the first time Addison abused her. She thought he let his emotions get the best of him and she didn’t think it would happen again. She further explains that the emotional abuse eventually became an everyday occurrence.
