Petition To Have Taraji P. Henson For Oxon Hill High School’s 2017 Commencement Speaker

There’s a petition on change.org to have Taraji P. Henson return to Oxon Hill High School to deliver the commencement speech at the 2017 graduation.  The award winning actress graduated from the school in 1988.

Henson was named Homecoming Queen her senior year at Oxon Hill High School.  The Empire actress used Instagram to announce her memoir Around The Way Girl set to be released on October 11, 2016.

The actress explained to Allure Magazine that she didn’t think she would win Homecoming Queen her senior year.  She further describes the honey blonde hair she had before Beyonce:

The petition calls for Henson to return to the school to share her story with the class of 2017.  As Cookie Lyon, Taraji’s never lost for words.  The brilliant marketing team at Fox created the following video which features Porsha outlining everything we love about Cookie:

The actress grew up in some of Washington D.C.’s worst areas.  Her hard work and dedication has enabled her to become one of the most prominent names in Hollywood.  
Henson’s realness is something she wouldn’t be able to conceal if she tried.  This is proven by the following video where her inner-Cookie comes out, remind people that she’s not the one:

Oxon Hill High School is located in Prince George’s County, Maryland.  The following Facebook post shows the school district congratulating Henson after she won Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama at the Golden Globes.
