Rachel L. Lindsay is a lawyer with experience representing clients regarding a variety of insurance claims. She’s currently an Associate at Cooper & Scully located in Dallas, TX. Nick Viall didn’t select Rachel but she’s 2017’s new Bachelorette! The news was announced on Monday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Rachel will be the first black lead in the history of the franchise. The Bachelor is in its 21st season while there have been 12 season of The Bachelorette. There has never been a better for diversity on the series. Black History Month 2017 has been magnificent and this news makes it even better!

The Bachelor doesn’t care about ruining surprises. Many thought Rachel had a good chance of winning Nick’s heart this season but now we know that won’t be happening. The following tweet shows that some fans are ready for Rachel’s season to start now!

The criticism the show has faced over diversity will finally come to an end. ABC will most likely have to expand the franchise after Rachel’s season. The Real Housewives franchise offers a perfect blueprint. The Bachelor Atlanta could feature a black cast while The Bachelor Beverly Hills could be made up of white cast members.
