Rapper 52 Savage, 53, Wesley Matthews – Go Fund Me, Instagram

Rapper 52 Savage recently visited The Breakfast Club.  He explained that he’s now 53 Savage because he just turned 53-years-old.  The DJ turned rapper, whose real name is Wesley Matthews recorded a song with Snoop Dogg.  Before becoming 52 Savage, Matthews went by DJ Swade.  He’s a popular DJ in Dallas.

Scroll to the video at the end of this article to see 52’s full interview.  Angela Yee was surprised that Charlamagne Tha God was a 52 Savage fan.  Charlamagne usually tells people that they’re too old to be chasing their dreams.  52 Savage advised listeners that it’s never too late.

Snoop isn’t the only 52 Savage fan.  Gabrielle Union and T.I. have also shown him some love.  52 explained that he knew to keep releasing music when the stars started contacting him.  He didn’t reach out to any celebrities, reminding us how powerful social media can be.

When artists are discovered on social media it’s usually through Instagram or Facebook but 52 was discovered on Triller, a music video app.  His niece introduced him to it and he’s been posting videos ever since.
