Does Toby die on This Is Us? On the season 1 finale, “Last Christmas” we see Toby (Chris Sullivan) collapse at Randall’s (Sterling K. Brown) house. We won’t know for sure until the NBC series returns on January 10, 2017 but we’re almost positive that Toby will survive. Kate (Chrissy Metz) wouldn’t be able to handle Toby’s death.
Toby motivates Kate in her journey to lose weight and we recently found out that Kate will definitely be losing weight on the series. Chrissy Metz, the actress who plays Kate, recently explained that her contract with NBC states that she has to lose weight in the trajectory of her character on the series.
