Who Plays Helen Von Wyeth On Empire? Gina Gershon – Spoilers

Helen Von Wyeth on Empire is played by Gina Gershon.  The video at the end of this post shows Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) attempt to introduce Angelo’s mother, Diana DuBois (Phylicia Rashad) to Helen.  Cookie is quickly reminded that Diana is a big deal.  Diana and Helen already know each other.

Helen is insulting a poor soul when she notices Diana.  Helen and Diana are very happy to see each other.  Helen reveals that her and Diana have sat on numerous boards together.  After a brief conversation, Helen reminds Diana about an upcoming fundraiser.

Diana then asks Jamal if he has any plans on the day of the fundraiser.  While Diana would love for Jamal to perform at the event, he’s still trying to deal with his PTSD from Freda Gatz shooting him.  Jamal is still working with Philip (Juan Antonio) to overcome his PTSD.

Helen doesn’t give Jamal a chance to answer, instead she compliments Diana for her marvelous idea.  Helen is the founder of her own fashion label.  In episode 8 of the show’s third season, “The Unkindest Cut” Helen partners with Empire for her fashion show.  Andre ruins Tiana’s performance at the event.
