Kevin Durant announced that he won’t be visiting the White House to celebrate the Golden State Warriors 2017 NBA Championship. People are comparing KD’s decision to Tom Brady’s 2015 decision not to visit the White House when Barack Obama was in office. Brady didn’t visit President Donald Trump after the Patriots won last year’s Super Bowl.
Durant is no longer hesitating to use his voice. The shy boy who played for the Oklahoma City Thunder is now a man. The tweet below shows his feud with former ESPN reporter, Britt McHenry. She states her belief that celebrities should accept invitations to the White House and KD falls asleep.
Tom Brady Kevin Durant White House |
Durant is from the nation’s capital so he takes Trump’s actions personal. People from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area aren’t afraid to fight for their rights.
While LeBron James speaks out against Trump, he never disrespects him. KD has insulted Trump numerous times and always disrespects him.
If issue (fairly) is divisiveness in the USA, then use celebrity & platform to come together. Great leaders meet, not shun invitations to WH— Britt McHenry (@BrittMcHenry) August 18, 2017
When you’re as talented as KD people listen to you. There are Golden State Warriors fans who support Trump. Those fans will think twice now that KD has voiced his opinion.
