Louis Vuitton just made Virgil Abloh its first African-American artistic director. In 2009, Abloh and Kanye West interned at Fendi Roma and then joined forces to launch Pyrex Vision. In 2013, Mr. West called for fans to boycott Louis Vuitton. It will be interesting to see what Kanye thinks about Abloh’s new position.
Virgil Abloh Net Worth: $3.5 Million
Virgil Abloh’s $3.5 million net worth was earned through his career as a designer, DJ and stylist. After finding out where Kanye West screen-printed his concert merchandise, Abloh convinced the owner of the company to introduce him to Kanye’s manager.
Abloh impressed Kanye, earning him a position as a creative director at Donda, the rapper’s creative agency. Abloh and West interned together and eventually launched Pyrex Vision which gained Abloh maximum exposure.
In 2013, Abloh launched Off-White and he hasn’t looked back since. He has collaborated with some of the most successful brands on the planet including Nike, Moncler and Jimmy Choo.
Virgil Abloh’s Wife Shannon
Virgil Abloh met his wife, Shannon Sundberg, in high school and they got married in 2009. Like his designs, Abloh crafted a perfect proposal: Virgil asked Shannon to take him to the airport and he was driving. When they arrived, Shannon got out the car to switch from the passenger to the driver’s seat.
When Shannon got to the driver’s side of the car, Virgil was on one knee with a beautiful ring. Shannon had no clue. The couple lives in Lincoln Park, one of Chicago’s wealthiest neighborhoods.
