On Empire, Bre-Z plays the daughter of Frank Gathers, Freda Gatz. Bre-Z shares numerous similarities to Freda Gatz: Both are rappers, both are barbers and both are from the streets.

The rapper comes from a family of barbers but she may be the most talented. In 2008, Bre-Z moved to Atlanta where she became a celebrity barber. Some of her clients include Ludacris and Akon.
Many Empire fans believe Bre-Z looks like Dej Loaf while others say she looks like Fantasia. No matter who she may resemble the talented rapper is making a name for herself on Empire. Since everyone else is comparing Bre-Z to other artists we might as well do the same: Snoop from The Wire:

The episode begins with Jamal and Freda practicing their song at the barber shop where Freda cuts hair. Freda is very happy to be collaborating with Jamal on such an amazing track but after Jamal leaves we see another side of Freda.
