Why Is There A Red Bar Saying Snapchat At Top Of Screen Banner?

If you’re seeing the red bar that says “Snapchat” at the top of your screen you’re not alone.  To remove the banner, turn off your microphone in your Snapchat settings.  The notification pops up to remind you that there are background apps running on your device.  With other apps, you can’t disable the notification, instead you have to close the app to disable to red banner.

 

In other Snapchat news, the company is working hard to maintain its success.  Snapchat is one still one of the most popular social media apps on the planet but that can change if the company fails to find an innovative way to set itself apart from the competition.

There’s no second place in the game of social media.  You have to go big or go home.  That’s why Snapchat is introducing a feed that uses an algorithm to show users relevant content.  That’s right, Snapchat is becoming every other social media app.  When you’re trying to survive, why wouldn’t you implement a strategy that is working for your competitors?

Snapchat is going global.  The company wants more users that live outside North America.  Only 25% of Snapchat’s 178 million users live outside the United States.
