Xscape’s reunion is bittersweet. I love seeing the ladies back together but they should have never broken up. The group recently signed a deal to make a movie about their lives which should explain their break up. Love and Hip Hop creator, Mona Scott-Young, is producing the film and it will air on Bravo.
Xscape’s TV movie is scheduled to release in 2018. Earlier this year, TV One announced Who Can I Run To: The Xscape Story. The network messed up by failing to include the group’s members in the project. Didn’t we learn anything from BET’s approach to The New Edition Story. The success of a biopic is generally based on an artist’s involvement. No one can tell your story better than you can.
Xscape Net Worth
It has been more than 25 years since Xscape formed and the group is still in high-demand. Check out each group member’s net worth.
LaTocha Scott
LaTocha Scott is currently worth $4 million. LaTocha started singing at a very young age. She grew up in Atlanta where she would compete in talent shows and perform at weddings. In 1998, she explored a career as a solo artist. Many blame Xscape’s break up on LaTocha’s desire to go solo. Her song, “Liar Liar” was featured on The Best Man soundtrack. In 2005, she appeared in the movie Fair Game.
Tamika Scott
Tamika Scott’s current net worth is $4.5 million. She’s LaTocha’s sister and she’s also an actress and songwriter. She appeared in Tyler Perry’s 2004 play Meet the Browns and she appeared on the Why Did I Get Married soundtrack. Her song, “Greatest Gift” was featured on the Daddy’s Little Girl soundtrack.
Tameka “Tiny” Cottle
Tameka “Tiny” Cottle’s net worth is $60 million. Tiny has earned her fortune through the music industry, television and her marriage to rapper, T.I. Her and Kandi wrote TLC’s hit song “No Scrubs.” Tiny also wrote Ed Sheeran’s hit song “Shape Of You.” In 2011, Tiny and T.I.’s reality series, The Family Hustle appeared on VH1. The show was an instant hit, adding to the family’s fortune.
Kandi Burruss
Kandi Burruss is worth $35 million. Kandi has enjoyed major success as a songwriter. She wrote TLC’s Grammy-winning track “No Scrubs” along with Destiny Child’s “Bills, Bills, Bills.” She didn’t get to write many songs throughout her initial years with Xscape but things have changed. Once she stopped relying on Jermaine Dupri to write songs, Kandi was able to take her career to another level.
