In episode 13 of Love and Hip Hop‘s eighth season, “St. Maarten Part 1” we see Yandy Smith-Harris plan a trip to the St. Maarten to help with hurricane relief.  Her and Remy Ma meet with the younger girls to try to resolve their drama but that doesn’t work.  It’s great to see Yandy’s positive storyline.  Last season she had serious beef with Mendeecees’ baby mamas, Erika and Samantha.

Yandy Smith Bio

She was born on March 21, 1982 to Laura and Ralph Smith.  The 35-year-old grew up Harlem and attended Howard University.  After graduating she landed a job at Violator Management where she played a major role in the success of 50 Cent and Missy Elliott’s careers.  At Violator, Yandy built a strong bond with the company’s manager, Mona Scott-Young.

Yandy became Jim Jones’ manager and left Violator to join Warner Music Group/Atlantic Records.  Yandy is one of the reasons why Jones rose to fame.  She helped the rapper negotiate a joint venture with Columbia Records and then she rejoined Mona Scott-Young at Monami Entertainment.
