Zanu Simpson Killed, Instagram – Queens Barber

Zanu Simpson is the Queens, New York barber who was shot and killed while sitting in his car.  The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 as the result of a botched (failed) robbery.  Zane went to a bar on Tuesday and after he left the robbers shot him while he was sitting in his BMW X5.  Simpson was one of the most popular barbers in Queens.

The shooting took place on Conduit Ave., in front of Breezes Island Grill Restaurant and Lounge.  A witness told police that a man wearing a hoodie punched Simpson several times before shooting him. Investigators report that Zanu was shot in his head three times.  The incident reminds us not to take life for granted because anything can happen.

Someone took Zanu’s life because they wanted his personal property.  Value people, not material things.  Some of Simpson’s valuables were found near his vehicle including jewelry and cash.  The robber most likely got scared and ran away before he could take all of Simpson’s property.  Karma is real and the individual will get what he deserves.

Zanu Simpson, 32, of Queens, New York was a master barber and well known in the community. Sadly, as he shot and killed early Tuesday, July 25, 2017. He had just left a nearby bar and grill when the shooting occurred. Police say he was killed while sitting in the driver’s seat of his BMW. They responded to a 911 call of a man shot around 12:15 a.m. A woman who drove by the crime scene told police a man in a charcoal gray hoodie leaned into the driver’s side window of Zanu’s vehicle and repeatedly punched him. Then the witness heard a gunshot as she drove by. She doubled back and saw Zanu slumped over in his seat. Police said he was shot in the head three times. Police found his belongings on the street near his SUV, including a gold ring, glasses and cash. Police also found a gun believed to be the murder weapon and a live round. Over the last month, robbers have targeted several people leaving the Breezes Island Grill (where Zanu had just left). NY Daily News reports that a source said there were “three or four cases when the victim had flashed cash or jewelry at that bar and then, later in the night, someone had followed them outside and robbed them at gunpoint.”… Zanu opened Queens’ Strickly Skillz Barbershop with his brother. He was well known and had celebrity clients, such as Kevin Durant, Future and Mobb Deep. Many hearts are grieving tonight and we extend our sympathies to his family and friends.
