Dr. Tamara O’Neal MD was one of the victims who was shot at killed at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. Tamra was murdered by her former fiancé, Juan Lopez. Witnesses say he shot Tamara in her chest and continued to shoot her after she fell to the ground.
Tamara was 38-years-old and her former fiancé, Juan Lopez was 32. Lopez was also killed in the shooting. Witnesses say that Juan and Tamara were seen arguing in the parking lot of the hospital and one of Tamara’s friends tried to intervene. O’Neal recently cancelled their engagement and Lopez was unable to control his emotions.
Pharmacist resident, Dayna Less was also killed in the shooting. She graduated from Purdue University and was shot after exiting an elevator in Mercy Hospital.
Vice reports that Chicago police officer Samuel Jimenez was the third victim murdered in the horrific incident. The 28-year-old was responding to the active shooter at Mercy Hospital although him and his partner were not assigned to the call.
Jimenez’s wife and three kids will miss him dearly. Pray for his family and the families of Tamara and Dayna.
