Lady Chablis, Cause Of Death

Transgender actress and author, Brenda Dale Knox aka The Lady Chablis, died of a pneumonia on September 8, 2016.  Her cause of death was recently announced by her close friend.

USA Today reports that the actress passed away on Thursday in Savannah, Georgia.  She had been in the hospital since October 2016.  She paved the way for entertainers like Laverne Cox, Caitlyn Jenner and Jazz Jennings.  She was featured in John Berendt’s 1994 book, Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil and the 1997 film adaptation.

CNN explains that Chablis became a gay icon after appearing in the book and film.  She was a regular performer at Club One, located in Savannah.  She passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 surrounded by friends and family whose hearts are full of memories.
