Hakeem from Empire did not die. In episode 1 of season 5, “Steal From the Thief” we see Hakeem recovering. He was shot by Blake’s father in season 4 of the series and he lost part of his lung.

Update: Empire will not air on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 because of the World Series. The show might be back on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 depending on what happens in the World Series. If the series does not return on November 1, it will air on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
Empire will now air at 8 PM and Star will air at 9 PM. Fall 2017 will be insane for Fox. We’re still waiting for an Empire spinoff. In the season 3 finale of Empire Cookie and Lucious decide to put Andre in charge. Andre had planned to kill his father by blowing up his car. Andre stops Cookie and Lucious before they get into the car but Lucious still suffers from the explosion.

Game 7 of the World Series is the reason why the show didn’t air on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.
If a World Series Game 7 is necessary the episode will be preempted. When a television show is preempted it airs the next day or after the program that took its time slot. On Wednesday, November 2 tune in to Fox at 9 PM. If there is a Game 7 the network will advise viewers when the show will air.
We’re hoping that the fifth episode of season 3, “One Before Another” will air on Wednesday, November 2, 2016! The third season just started and we’re back to that uncomfortable, familiar feeling, desperate for another shot of Empire. The third Presidential Debate will air on Wednesday, October 19 on Fox. On Wednesday, October 26 the second game of the World Series will air on Fox.

“Cupid Kills” featured all the new music, drama and violence we love about the series. Lucious and Andre try to sign Nessa but Shine stages a bidding war. Shine and Andre get into a fight and Lucious ends up pulling a gun on Shine, forcing him to sign the contract. Lucious and Andre will be on high alert on “One Before Another” because they know that Shine will be looking for revenge.Jamal finally gets Freda Gatz out of jail and now he’s focused on conquering his fears. Him and Hakeem plan a performance while Cookie’s busy with her probation officer.
Don’t miss the fall finale on December 13, 2017. The fall finale is episode 9 of season 4, “Slave To Memory.” Cookie and Lucious are working together to destroy Diana Dubois. Cookie warned Lucious that she needs him, the real him, and not Dwight for this mission. Lucious promised Cookie that he’s back and ready for war.
After Cookie and Angelo broke up, Diana started terrorizing the Lyons and she’s been doing a magnificent job. Dubois helped Anika get custody of Bella, devastating Hakeem.

Diana didn’t only hurt Hakeem she also hurt Jamal by using Warren. Jamal was falling in love with Warren and it broke his heart when he found out that he was related to Diana.
Diana got Andre’s doctor to prescribe him the wrong meds. This led Andre to think that a woman named Pamela Rose existed and he was convinced that he murdered her.

In episode 9 of Empire‘s fourth season, “Slave To Memory” we’ll finally get to hear Andre Lyon sing! The video below shows him performing “Superstar.” The song was originally written in 1969 by Bonnie Bramlett, Leon Russell and Delaney Bramlett. “Superstar” has been a hit for numerous artists including Cher and The Carpenters.
